Who We Are

Who We Are

What Guides Us
In all we do, we're guided by certain principles detailed by our parent company, Rio Tinto, in a document called The way we work. First, we believe in the concept of sustainable development. This means we work to ensure our actions have social, environmental and economic value that will last well beyond the life of the mine we seek to develop and operate. We also believe in transparency—being open with those inside and outside the company regarding our plans, strategies and actions. And we emphasize safety above all else. Our goal is zero work-related injury or illness, and we devote energy and resources to ensure all Resolution Copper employees and contractors work smart and work safe.

Whether you're a local community member, a student, a government worker, a person focused on caring for the environment, a Resolution Copper partner or simply someone who wants to learn more about mining in the 21st century, we invite you to visit other areas of our website to learn more about us. How We Manage

Resolution Copper Mining is managed by a team of executives with a diverse and extensive background of experience. The project is co-led by the president and the project director. The president focuses on managing the activities related to health, safety and environmental compliance, the land exchange, permitting, and community relationships. The project director focuses on the technical development of the pre-feasibility study, construction of the physical plant and reclamation of the historic operations near the Town of Superior. The executive management team meets weekly to coordinate and align all project activities.

Through visible and felt leadership, the leadership team supports and ensures adherence to Resolution Copper's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policy, believing it central to workforce well-being, operational care and concern for the environment, and the company's long-range business success. The management team ensures that all employees are appropriately aware of and trained in all aspects of health, safety and environmental compliance. In particular, all employees are able to implement our comprehensive disaster management and recovery program, which helps us protect against and prepare for potential emergency situations.

The project director is responsible for the pre-feasibility studies and associated on-site activities at the Resolution Project. The vice president of pre-feasibility study manages all activities related to Resolution Copper's current stage of mining exploration, evaluation, and engineering design. Additionally, human resource management and workforce development are critical aspects of the project that require long-term focus and management.

Senior management and department heads are responsible for ensuring that the policies outlined in Resolution Copper's HSE policy and Disaster Management and Recovery program, and in Rio Tinto's The way we work, are incorporated into daily operations.
