Spotlight: Blais Industries
Arizona native Bo Deen knows a thing or two about mining. His family, the Deen's, own the historic Silver King Mine just north of Superior. Today, along with Real Racicot of RGS Consultants, he is part of a new mining legacy at Resolution Copper.

In early 2009, Deen's employer, Blais Industries, USA, a subsidiary of the Canadian-based firm of the same name, and Quebec-based RGS Consultants, were awarded the hoist installation work on Resolution Copper's #10 Shaft. The work, which lasted the better part of six months, resulted in jobs for about 30 residents of Superior and the surrounding area.
Successful completion of the project at Resolution Copper was the catalyst behind Blais Industries' and RGS Consultants' decision to open an office on Superior's Main Street. Opening an office in Superior makes good business sense for the firm. Said Deen, “We're optimistic about the prospect of future work with Resolution Copper once the land exchange is completed as well as the opportunity to partner with other area mining firms.” The two firms boast unique expertise and the ability to carry out highly specialized work. In addition to an office, Blais has a lay-down yard in Superior.
Deen said the Superior Town Council and local residents have been very supportive of the company's endeavor. Blais has four employees at their new office located at 226 W. Main Street. For more information, contact the firm directly at 520.689.2198.
