Living History Program

In mid-2004, Resolution Copper recognized a rich opportunity to preserve the past by gathering stories from miners still living in the Copper Triangle who had worked previous mining operations in their heyday.

The company conducted 18 interviews with former miners and their families from Superior and the surrounding area. Interviews were condensed into a video segment that provides an overview of this unique Living History project. The stories were then transcribed and shared in local newspapers and historical society publications.

In 2006 the company produced a book titled Going Underground: Reflecting on Mining Life in Arizona's Copper Triangle. The stories of these skilled men and women are also featured in the community room of Resolution Copper's headquarters in Superior.
