In Our Communities

Corporate Philanthropy and Partnerships

Resolution Copper is committed to meaningful charitable giving and partnerships. We invest our dollars and time in organizations and causes that will support the future sustainability of our host communities and our organization. Our primary areas of giving are the environment, education and community development. While there is a slight overlap between strategic partnerships and community outreach, we have established giving guidelines for both to ensure that we fund projects and causes that support the missions of both Rio Tinto and Resolution Copper.

Grants are only awarded to non-profit organizations that have tax-exempt status under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). Exceptions include publicly funded academic institutions.

Our 2008 guidelines as well as an application are available to download. Please note that applications are evaluated on a competitive basis every quarter by an internal review committee. Only properly completed proposals that fall within our approved guidelines will be accepted.
