ISO 14001:2004 Certification Achieved

A major accomplishment during 2007 was the company’s success in achieving ISO 14001:2004 certification of our Environmental Management System (EMS)–the plans, policies and procedures by which we manage and continually improve our work in the environment. The company earned certification in November 2007 from DNV, an internationally recognized auditing firm.

EMS procedures, including an incident reporting system, govern our approach to land use and habitat, waste management, and air and water quality management.

Our EMS will be examined internally at regular intervals by a team of trained auditors to ensure it complies with the international standard. We have also voluntarily chosen to be audited by an external third party every six months to ensure we are adhering to the ISO standard as closely as possible, with a focus on continual improvement. Certification is valid for three years, at which point we will undergo the certification process once again.
