Consulting with Stakeholders
Resolution Copper Mining views stakeholders as those
individuals who are affected by or can affect company
operations.
Our project stakeholders include:
• Resolution Copper Mining employees and their families
• Contractors
• Suppliers
• Local, state and county governments, elected
and appointed officials
• Regulatory and non-regulatory agencies
• Interest groups
• Non-government organizations
• Elementary, secondary and post-graduate learning
institutions
• Members of the media
• Rio Tinto and BHP shareholders
At Resolution Copper Mining, interacting with
stakeholders is a priority. We listen to and solicit input
from key stakeholder groups in a variety of ways, including
community forums, community advisory committees,
external and internal communications, and one-on-one
interactions in both formal and informal settings. Feedback
and knowledge gained are then factored into our business
planning and communications approach.
Our efforts to identify and cultivate relationships with
Resolution Copper stakeholders began nearly six years ago
through formal surveys, polls and baseline assessments–methods we still use today to verify stakeholder groups,
determine how they view our company and identify
their concerns. Our stakeholder engagement programs
are well-resourced and involve employees at all levels
of the organization. We work hard to strike a balance
between business and stakeholder priorities. When
stakeholder feedback is negative, we listen to comments
and suggestions and do our best to respond to concerns. By
communicating with stakeholders, we have been able to
dispel misinformation and share our desire to work toward
common solutions to environmental, economic and social
issues.
