• Local Hire and Turnover Rates:

> 87.5 percent (seven out of eight) Level 1 contractors were hired locally through Superior-based Copper Triangle Mining Services.
> At year end, our contractor workforce stood at 274. This is a decrease of 23 percent from year-end 2006, when we had 358 contractors in place. This decrease was primarily due to completion of our water treatment plant, an effort that had involved an extensive third-party workforce, as well as delays in the schedule for shaft development.
> The total local hire rate during 2007, including RCM employees and contractors, was 54.3 percent, which exceeded our goal of 40 to 50 percent for the year.
> The company’s turnover rate in 2007 was 5.5 percent, slightly above our 2007 goal of <5 percent.
