Safety Programs

To mitigate risk and raise awareness, we developed and hosted a number of health and safety management programs for our contractors and employees in 2007.
Examples include:

• MSHA supervisory responsibilities course
• Supervisor standards review weekly meeting
• Audiometric testing/respirator fit testing
• Occupational health monitoring and sampling
• Underground mine rescue training
• National Traffic Safety Institute driver training course
• First aid/CPR training
• First Responder training
• MaxCom program – helps employees to identify, categorize, track and safely handle hazardous chemicals
• Take Five safety program – a pre-task hazard assessment
• Safety Interactions – employees and contractors observe each other’s work activity and provide suggestions and feedback on safety
• Det Norske Veritas – safety management and audit training
• Accident/incident Tap Root program
