Support of SD Policies and Regulatory Compliance

Resolution Copper Mining complies with a variety of policies and standards that govern our approach to sustainable development. As part of the Rio Tinto Group, we support and endorse the
United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), an initiative to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt socially responsible and sustainable policies, and to report on them. UNGC contains a set of 10 principles relating to the environment, human rights, workers’ rights and anticorruption. The Rio Tinto Group’s commitments, including the International Council on Mining and Minerals (ICMM) Sustainable Development Principles, are detailed within the
Rio Tinto Sustainable Development Review.

We also comply with applicable government regulations and health and safety standards, including those of the
Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). The Resolution Project is currently in compliance with all permits and regulatory obligations including federal, state and local permits governing air quality, hazardous and solid waste disposal, and land and water permits.
