Contractor Contributions
COMPLETED PROJECTS
Verde Building - Valley Forward Environmental Excellence Award winner Resolution Copper’s contractors and sub-contractors work on an array of assignments, including one award-winning project that directly benefits our workforce – the successful renovation of our Superior-based corporate headquarters, known as the Verde (or "Green") building, which opened in March of 2007. The building was honored with a 2007 Award of Merit for historic preservation of buildings and structures by Valley Forward’s Environmental Excellence Awards (EEA) program.
Historic Restoration
The building is the former Magma Hospital, where many local members of Resolution Copper’s workforce were born! Renamed the Verde Building, the facility represents the old, new and renewed. The renovated building pays homage to Superior’s history and cultural heritage, as well as the past, present and future impact of copper on Arizona. For example, a community room, which is open to the public, houses a display of mining artifacts and examples of current uses of copper. A miner’s profile wall and video presentation also celebrate the stories of the men and their families from Superior’s mining heyday.
